The Importance of Words
Elder Rasband’s talk “Words Matter” is such a perfect one for teaching your family about words. Whether it is God’s words, the prophets’ words, or our own words, we can recognize that words have POWER.
Elder Rasband helps us understand how to choose words in our life that help us connect with others, encourage and build others up, express our beliefs, and “open our minds to truth”.
The lesson starts with a great object lesson using two apples that shows our kids how much their “words matter.”
It also comes with a printable quote you can use to help you teach your kids to use these three words more often:
- Thank you
- I am Sorry
- I Love you!
And who doesn’t want more of that in their house!
Elder Rasband teaches us that:
“We can say “thank you” on the elevator, in the parking lot, at the market, in the office, in a queue, or with our neighbors or friends. We can say “I am sorry” when we make a mistake, miss a meeting, forget a birthday, or see someone in pain. We can say “I love you,” and those words carry the message “I am thinking about you,” “I care about you,” “I am here for you,” or “You are everything to me.”
