Weekly Thoughts:
Sometimes making the right choice is hard! Sometimes the right choices isn’t the popular choice, the one we are wanting at the moment, or the one that has the easiest results. I love this quote:
“In life we usually end up doing what we want. The key is to want the right thing.”
Elder Clate W. Mask
So how do we make sure we want the right things?
Queen Esther could have chosen the easier choice, and kept silent. But she didn’t. She decided to go to the king, at risk of her life, to save her people.
I think her choice was motivated by love. The love she had for her uncle Mordecai, who chose to rasie her when her parent had died. He was a righteous man who taught her to put the Lord first… always. The love she had for her people. But especially the love she had for God and her desire to be an instrument in His hands. “For who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this.”
Esther was a woman of faith who knew who she was and whose she was. God had a plan and a divine purpose and path for her at that time and she loved and trusted Him enough to follow Him, no matter the risks.
When we take time to love and build a relationship with our Heavenly Father and Savior, our desires change and we find that we truly WANT to choose to follow them.
