Thoughts for this week’s reading:
A few weeks ago we were talking about miracles and my son asked me why we don’t have big miracles any more. Miracles like Moses parting the Red Sea or Zarephath and her endless jar of oil and meal. I told him, “We do still have big miracles all around us! You can find them if you look.”
I was reminded of President Nelson’s talk this last general conference:
“Seek and expect miracles… Do the spiritual work to seek miracles. Prayerfully ask God to help you exercise that kind of faith. I promise that you can experience for yourself that Jesus Christ “giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.”24 Few things will accelerate your spiritual momentum more than realizing the Lord is helping you to move a mountain in your life.”
President Nelson, Spiritual Momentum, April 2022 General Conference
It only took my son and I a few minutes to start to see the miracles all around us. How about being able to watch sacrament meeting being broadcasted into your livingroom? That is a miracle! Missionaries all over the world teaching the gospel. Miracle! We talked about the miracle that he got hit in the face with a fast baseball just that week and miraculously was barely hurt when it should have been much worse.
President Nelson is asking us to seek miracles in our lives so that we can see His hand in our lives. So we can feel of His love to help us move mountains in our lives.
What miracles have you see in your life lately?
